At the Universities of Utrecht and Groningen two PhD positions are available on a project "Designing and Understanding Forensic Bayesian Networks with Arguments and Scenarios". A successful candidate has a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Philosophy or a related field, and has an interest in formal research in argumentation, narrative techniques and Bayesian Networks, and their application in forensic contexts.

Codex – The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics (http://codex.stanford.edu) is accepting applications for a Resident Fellowship for the 2011-12 academic year. Codex research fellows will have the opportunity to spend one to two years at Stanford Law School collaborating with scholars in computer science and other relevant disciplines. Applicants should have a J.D. or equivalent law degree. Because the primary focus of the center is employing technology within the law, applicants should also have experience in computer science or engineering related fields. Postdoc Position Available in Barcelona

The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) has announced the availability of a two-year postdoctoral research grant in the Department of Political Science and Public Law. Eligible candidates are persons who have received a PhD from a university other than the UAB after 1 July 1998 as well as holders of a PhD received from the UAB after 1 July 1998 who have had a minimum of two years experience in a postdoctoral research position at some other university of research center. The grants last a total of 2 years and cannot be renewed. The position begins during the first four-months of 2008. The grant amount i 24,750 Euros (gross) per year.
